The Fighting AAEVP

Yesterday, I wrote a post discussing, among other things, the vigorous challenge posed by the Animal Alliance Environment Voters Party of Canada to the otherwise inevitable coronation of Bob Rae as the newly minted MP for Toronto Centre. I noted that the AAEVP received 72 votes in the 2006 general election, and are no doubt hoping for a breakthrough in 2008. Having roared past the Marxist Leninists in 2006 (beating them by a commanding 6 votes), the AAEVP still fell a mere 29 votes short of overtaking the arch-nemesis Nation Alliance Party. They'll have the Communist Party in the crosshairs in no time. Looking over your shoulder yet, Bob?
